The Adventures of Fluffy and Astrid: Tales of a Hopeless Romantic

DREAM – Day 4 after break-up

Last night I dreamt I was cradled in the One’s breasts and every time I wanted to fall asleep, she lifted my chin and kissed me. It was so real. Soft. Passionate. Forever and perfect…

Then I woke up and realised that I was alone in my bed and The One had broken up with me. Last Thursday, to be exact. It took all the power I had to get out of bed this morning. How do you get out of bed when you have no-one to dream of while you’re awake?

My only reason for getting up was Fluffy’s pathetic desire to check Facebook and see if
The One had left a message confessing she was wrong, and that she didn’t want to walk away and that I was the best thing ever to happen to her. But nothing.

Not even a lousy poke.

Astrid: That’s what you get if you want to be masochistic and check Facebook every hour. Just be prepared to suffer. I say we either take a break from Facebook or actually reply to the all these women poking us and get in touch with all that British pussy. They’re knocking at the fucking door. Let’s answer it. Fuck The One. Let’s delete her from the Friends list. Then you can’t stalk her.

Fluffy: Never! How else am I going to know what she’s doing, who she’s seeing. I can’t. I just can’t. Shut up and leave me alone.

So I bought two new pairs of pants, an Etro shirt, shoes and different colour make-up. And while Fluffy mopes around the house all black-eyed, sniffing and addicted to Nintendo DS, I’m going to make myself over, and set up some dates for the week.

I would have written about days one to three of break-up but I couldn’t move my fingers. And all I could say – no, mumble – for 72 hours was: “I’ve lost her. I’ll never kiss her again.”

Boring really.
